Run
Comments: I went out with the goal of seeing if I could run for a mile straight, so I started off slowly and kept my feet moving and managed to make it to the 1 mile mark without stopping, so I accomplished my one goal. I mostly walked the rest due to my left achilles tendon and right hip flaring up as expected, but I managed to run the last 2 blocks to finish up. What would you do differently?: Besides be better prepared or not injured? Nothing really. I almost doubled the longest I'd run since I started training and I'd never run even close to a mile in one shot before in my life, so I'm happy! Post race
Warm down: Walked around a bit after the race, but mostly got back in my car to get dry and put the heater on. What limited your ability to perform faster: My nagging achilles and hip flexor injuries. Event comments: It was a small event and hampered by the weather. There was only one drink station on the course and they only gave you a cup with maybe 3 swallows of water so really not enough if it had been hotter. Lots of encouraging volunteers out on the course that made the run alot of fun. Last updated: 2008-01-21 12:00 AM

Stopped at Panera on the way over and got a bagel with cream cheese and some water. Moped about the crappy, cold, rainy weather. Got to the event early to pick up my packet and generally get drizzled on for an hour waiting for it to start.
Mostly stayed under an overhang to stay warm and jumped around a bit to warm up so I could stretch some.
