Subject: AquaBike Series
USAT just announced a pilot program of Nine half-Ironman and Ironman distance races where they will offer 1st 2 leg (Swim and Bike only) entries for those with injuries or otherwise unable to do the run.

My thought is, as someone strong in the swim and bike but slowly building my run distance, could this be a good beginner oportunity for exposure to the Ironman distance? Would that be unfair to the injured for whom this was targeted?

It seems that this is only aimed at 1/2 IM and full IM races.

Will it develop into a shorter distances I wonder?
