Uploading Garmin to Training Peaks -

Try exporting it to your desktop before you try to upload it.  For some programs, if the file path is too long, it will give you an error.  See below:

Very Short
C:\FILENAME.tcx

Moderate
C:\Documents and Settings\andrew.m.thompson\Desktop\FILENAME.tcx

Very Long
C:\Documents and Settings\andrew.m.thompson\My Documents\Triathlon\Garmin\Andrew's Workouts\FILENAME.tcx

 Make sure that you are following these exact steps for exporting from Garmin Training Center:

I was trying to follow that but was not having much luck.  I also re-saved to my desktop for a shorter path but that did not help...still getting error message......

Bump...still having issues..keep gettting error message - "Error processing file: file not understood"

I have tried it on two different computers so clearly I am doing something wrong but I have followed the instructions pretty much to a tee.....any techies have any suggestions?  I have posted a message on the trainingpeaks support board but have not heard back yet...thanks in advance

My first stab at helping didn't do much, so let me try this again. 

TP will only accept a single sport workout, so if it's a multi sport, forget it.  Make sure you export the individual workout, not the entire week or entire workout log.  If it was a single lap workout, try exporting the individual lap. 

My procedure that I use every single day to upload to TP:

-Log in to TP
-Right click on the individual workout, click export
-Export to my desktop (file reads: 6_26_2008 4_13_33 AM_history.tcx)
-Click upload file, browse, select file, upload file

Anyway, I don't know much else to tell you.  It works for me.

I think I figured it out.  I was only running, but had my Garmin in the Multisport Mode....that explains it...I hope.  Thanks Andrew, for the help.
