Run
Comments: I felt really good during this run. I started off slow so that I could conserve my energy and that seemed to benefit me in the long run (I usually start off way too fast). I walked for a bit between miles 2.2 and 2.5 and then I ran the rest of the way. What would you do differently?: I would have brought my hand water bottle. There were two water stops on the course but it was REALLY hot out and I felt slightly dehydrated. Post race
Warm down: I grabbed a water bottle and walked around for a bit and once my heart rate leveled out, I stretched. What limited your ability to perform faster: Nothing really - focusing on taking it slow and keeping my heart rate in check is really helping me. I will focus on going faster later. The race was scheduled to start at 8 so I woke up at 6:30, got ready, ate a bagel with peanut butter, drank two glasses of water, and headed out.
I arrived with about 10 minutes to spare before the race start so I took my time with stretching and walking around.
