Total Time = 1h 12m 58s
Overall Rank = 14/176
Age Group = 35-39
Age Group Rank = 1/19
Pre-race routine:

walked through transition, familurizing with entrances and exits
Event warmup:

none. arrived late, just setup
Swim
  • 14m 14s
  • 750 meters
  • 01m 54s / 100 meters
Comments:

Started off conservative and toward back of pack. Got caught up behind some traffic at first. Rocky beach exit, had slow difficult exit.
What would you do differently?:

Start closer to front of pack. Should have swam shallow to avoid walking over rocks.
Transition 1
  • 00m 58s
Comments:

put shoes on in transition area. Took easy run up from beach into transition. Was a little winded running in, then getting suit off.
Bike
  • 34m 25s
  • 12.7 miles
  • 22.14 mile/hr
Comments:

Good ride. Held Aero position for most of the time.
Transition 2
  • 00m 39s
Comments:

Spent a few seconds trying to get watch off the bike. Also put socks on this time.
What would you do differently?:

workout a new way to use watch or forget it. Maybe not use socks on these short runs
Run
  • 22m 42s
  • 3.1 miles
  • 07m 19s  min/mile
Comments:

Back a little stiff for first mile. Not nearly as bad as Quakerman, though. Kept a moderate pace at first. Loosened up nice for second mile. energy dropped off toward finish.
What would you do differently?:

get familiar with course before race. Toward end of run, lost some motivation because I didn't know where the course was going and how much further it went.
Post race
Warm down:

none. Felt much better than after QuakerMan.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Not knowing run course.
