HFP Racing
Precipitation
Total Time = 1h 18m 58s
Overall Rank = 56/292
Age Group = 45-49
Age Group Rank = 1/3
Pre-race routine:

Up half hour before leaving; poptarts and diet Pepsi on the way. Parked fairly close, set up then wandered. Saw DJdavey, 1sttimetri,Lara,maggyruth,raytownpete. Tried a ShotBlox, YUCK...ate some Sport Beans, YUM!
Event warmup:

none...just wandering aimlessly. To swim would have been counterproductive...its called a 'warm up' not a freeze down!
Swim
  • 15m 3s
  • 750 yards
  • 02m 01s / 100 yards
Comments:

COLD; 'nough said
What would you do differently?:

nothing; hit my goal time right on! (well, 3 seconds slow!)
Transition 1
  • 01m 54s
Comments:

clipped in fast, geared perfect for hill climb at start. Piece of cake!
What would you do differently?:

not get right foot stuck in wetsuit on timing chip!
Bike
  • 35m 20s
  • 12.43 miles
  • 21.11 mile/hr
Comments:

no bike splits for the race, so rank unknown. time was by my watch. Wet roads made my cornering VERY slow, cautious. Rest of bike felt really strong, worked hard.
What would you do differently?:

nothing, wouldn't risk crash in corners by taking them faster
Transition 2
  • 01m 21s
Comments:

Remembered to put race belt on while running, instead of in t2! slugged down some gatorade, gelled on the way out of t2.
What would you do differently?:

YANX! I keep saying this, and I have a pair...just haven't taken the time to mess with putting them on my shoes!
Run
  • 24m 24s
  • 3.11 miles
  • 07m 51s  min/mile
Comments:

strong run; probably could have pushed a bit more; hip sore but don't think it really limited me. Probably should have left a bit more on the race course somewhere, rather than some left in the tank at the finish.
What would you do differently?:

push just a bit more
Post race
Warm down:

Awards handed out right at the finish, pretty cool! Accepted mine with a big smile...and a happy dance (in my head...didn't want to look like a goof!) Wandered around, chatted with Dave and the guy who I saw crash on the bike. Headed back on course to run in with maggyruth.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

nothing, really felt I had a good race

Event comments:

HFP puts on good races. Loved the PBJ and Oreos at the finish!
Loved my 5th/93 overall women place more than my 1st age group!
