Subject: Not sure what to do next
I am looking for a Silver Plan because I want to use the drills and strength training.

This was my first year. I did two 5km runs, a Time Trial, a try-a-tri, a sprint and a double super-sprint. I did a 20 week beginner sprint training plan with my own strength endurance. I did not do any drills (I just did the times).

This week is my week off (and to research my next move). I am anxious to get back into a new training plan that will allow me to get stronger and faster. I am a really slow runner and I need to improve. I am happy with my biking and running. I want to do drills this time. My next tri will be next summer.

So, what would you suggest be my next move (s)? What should I do after the next training session?

I think I have it narrowed down to the SILVER Sprint, Basic 12 week RPE. Should I add in more running? Will the strength training make me stronger?

I also like the maintenance programs too.

Any comments would be really greatly appreciated!

So your next triathlon will be about a year away?  What distance?  Can you narrow done the month?

And it sounds like running is your limiter?

I want to keep next summers races at the Sprint Level. My "A" race will be on Father Day, which I will attempt to beat my 2008 time of 1:39:35.

And yes, I am a really slow runner. I need to learn how to pick up the pace.

I looked at your last month of training, so it seems that your running hasn't repeatably exceeded about 35 minutes.  So I would recommend the 4-7 hr 20 week winter maintenance plan.  The first week or two may be light, use it to recharge from your season.  But this plan should see you getting to 50 minutes to 1 hour runs a few times.    It is also 3x per sport so hitting this plan with consistency will help you a lot.

You can also add in a 4rth short/medium distance run to help get that 'run durability.  But you would only add in a 4rth run until after you are consistently hitting 3 runs per the plan over several weeks.

THEN if you are comfortably running through the end of the plan, it could set you up well for the 8 week run focused plan.  That is about 5 runs per week (though you will want to build up to that before starting it over several weeks) and it starts at 30-50 minutes of running per week, 5x a week and builds to about 1.5 hrs.  But first you need to do the above 4-7 hr plan to get that running up and being consistent.

After that first plan or both of them, we can later discuss transitioning into a sprint race plan...maybe an intermediate plan.
