Age Group Rank = 55/3461
Event warmup:

did one but then had to stand around for 30mins so a bit of a waste of time
Run
  • 1h 24m 25s
  • 10 miles
  • 08m 26s  min/mile
Comments:

The 6 2:1 hills were punishing, entered the assault course within the top 50, the water was sub-zero, had to go in it alot, and underneath it, got cut up, bruised, bled alot, more cold, oh and burnt a bit on the fire jumps....it was all good:)

see my last years report for more details
Post race
Warm down:

ha warm-down.....more like warmup

What limited your ability to perform faster:

try running after sub zero-water swims.....;)

Event comments:

well compared to last years performance (which was my first ever race) i am pleased with my progress in 12 months

3461 finished but 4600 started!

I thought about doing this, until I saw the fire challenge...

Well done for finishing, you are indeed a tough guy.

Hey Andy,

I checked out the web site and saw some of the obstacles in the course and can see why so many people don't finish.

You are indeed a Tough Guy (or crazy) to finish that course. Well done on your result!!

cheers, what it doesn't really say is the real race is the 6 or so miles cross-country that come first, this is where you make up the most places. then again you tend to run fast when you have 4500 people behind you

cheers

Are you insane? This race looks cool, I am a swimmer and have good breath control, but that swim under the bridge or whatever looks terrifying - I assume 0 visibility and lots of arms and legs - how do they keep from having drownings?
