Whether it's a week apart or a day apart, you can do two sprint distance tri's on back to back days. I did it and I'm nobody special. The only thing is, on the second one when someone in your AG passes you with 200 yards to go and you try to outsprint him/her to the finish, you will likely not have enough left in the tank to pull it off. If you do then you didn't go hard enough!!
A couple of years ago I did a sprint Sunday and another one Thursday. I ended up with blood in my urine and had to have lots of tests to determine if my was breaking down my muscle..it was all rather unpleasant.
I was never really given an answer what happened and it hasn't really happened again. Doing lots of races is fun, just listen to your body. You probably can get away with it easier if you are fitter and have been for a few years.

Yikes, glad it hasn't happened again! Especially after finishing an IM! I don't do lots of races and the only reason I did these two back to back was because there simply aren't that many tris within a reasonable distance up where I'm at.
