of the tomato

My Tomatoes are here.....my tomatoes are here!!! 111!!eleventy111!!!!

I gots teh romas fer the pastas, I gots teh super sonics fer teh sammiches an teh salits, and teh mortgage lifters on account of they're big and pink and named fer teh current events.

Had 2 sammiches (the classic kind..... tomato, mayo, salt on whole wheat) for breakfast, made some upscale ones for dinner the other night

put fresh pesto on toasted English muffin, add slice of tomato, top with more pesto and smoked mozzerella, put under broiler until cheese browns...eat and smile.

It's been a tough year on the ol' garden this time. We had too much cloudy, rainy weather this spring, and the sun has been hiding, but finally, finally big red happiness is drooping on the vines

Oh, yeah we have corn too.

VERY NICE.

I went to a "tomato party" last night to celebrate some friends' early harvest.

Yum.

yay for produce! We have only had a few of our own tomatoes - we have generously given several away and/or had them when guests came over. Last night we had a salad of lettuce and carrots, and corn on the cob - all from the garden! mmmmm.........

I suspect there will be a BLT night here in the very near future.
