Subject: IM WI Finish line catchers...

Ok, I know this is the most anal post ever, but assuming I finish IM Moo, I am expecting to finish late. Like in the 15-17 hour range. And I know from KathyG that all that's usually left at that time is large and extra large finisher shirts. And a large shirt will almost hang to my knees.

I really want to be able to proudly wear my finisher shirt and it not look like I'm wearing a nightgown.  Is there anyone working as a finish line catcher late that could see about holding back a small or at the very most a medium t-shirt for me?

Or is there someone finishing early that is willing to ask for a small and let me swap with you when I get done and all that's left is large and extra large?

What's a girl to do?

(and yes I know that it's totally unreasonable that at 10:15 on a Friday morning at work this is what I'm worried about)

I am with you on this. I am expecting a 14-16 hour finish and am sadly expecting a finishers tshirt that will only be worn around the house. I don't understand why they don't order more smaller shirts.

I know it sounds crazy, but I've had t-shirts altered at the dry-cleaner.  That's what I did last year for my Vineman 70.3 shirt.

Actually no that doesn't sound crazy. I just mentioned this to my coach, and she told me one of her other athletes has a lady that alters t-shirts. I never thought of that! It's definitely my back-up plan!

Don't worry, I'll have the same problem - it's good to know that Tshirts can be altered!

At first I got a few strange looks from my dry-cleaner when I said I needed a t-shirt altered, but she used to it now.  I'm sure I'll be seeing her the first week of Sept with my IMKY finisher's shirt as I will not be finishing early enough to get a smaller size

I'll be a finish catcher and am more than happy to get you a shirt. Just keep in touch and remind me before the race, my memory isn't what it used to be

I'll also be body marking and hopefully in the changing tent out of the swim. Can't wait to cheer you guys on!

Maybe I'm missing out on something specific to IM Moo, but I've finished IM AZ in 16:15, and IM CDA in a little over 16 hrs, and both times I got my M t-shirt.

When I did my first IM in AZ, as I finished they couldn't get me that shirt fast enough (in fact all I did was request it over and over until i was told to relax).....turns out they had stacks of each size left over.

I think part of the issue is how many of registered athletes show up and how many start and how many finish. IMLP had 7% DNF rate....

I was bummed with Large t-shirt as it is huge on me. I did buy 3 finisher much nicer t-shirts or wicking t shirts  the next day to make up.  Be sure to get there early the next day to get good stuff as the finisher stuff goes and the tent is crazy busy.
