I'm still undecided about this race. It is a wonderful race, 1/3M Swim, 22 mile rolling bike and 3.1M run. With alot of choices out there, let's not forget about this one.

I'm in. The program director of Camp Whitcomb-Mason was in my skydiving group last Sunday and I asked him to scan/email me a copy of the bike route. I'll post it if he gets around to it. I know the website doesn't provide maps, elevation, etc.

I'm in. However, I'd say "rolling" is a pretty generous way to describe that bike course. That's about the hilliest course you'll find for a sprint. The run is also unusual. First it's a trail run, then a hot run (if the conditions are right) through a subdivision, then a rolling run on an asphalt path.

I am in.  Rode the bike course this morning, and a number of the roads on the course have been resurfaced... very smooth ride...

The director sent me a makeshift map of the course--a little hard to decipher with only half the roads visible and/or labeled, but here's what I could make out:

-Exit Camp Whitcomb on the East end and turn left (north) onto Center Oak--go about 1 block
-Turn right on Scott Lane--go 1/2 mile
-Right on Hideaway Lane--go 1/3 mile
-Left on Center Oak--go 1/2 mile
-Left on Plainview--go 1/2 mile
-Left on Lake 5 Road--go 1 1/2 miles
-Left on Hickory Road (turns into Center Oak)--go 2 miles
-Veer right onto Cty Rd K--go 2 miles
-Right on Emerald Rd--go 3 miles (and look out for Death Hill)
-Left on Donegal Rd--go 1 mile
-Right on Cty Rd K--go 1 mile
-Left on Holy Hill Road (also Hwy 167)--go 1 1/2 miles
-Left on Dublin Dr (stay on Dublin even though it jogs around a little)--go 2 1/2 miles
-Right on Cty Rd K--go 1 1/2 miles
-Right on Cty Rd E--go 1 mile
-Enter Camp Whitcomb on the left

My directions may not be entirely accurate, especially at the beginning; like I said, the map was hard to read.

The times i've ridden it before i've always started at the Lisbon Community Park. You meet up with the course 1/2mile down Lake Five rd and Plainview (bottom corner of map) Then i've always come back on Camp Whitcomb rd to hwy W to Center Oak Rd, then Plainview and Lake Five. I'm not sure if you are allowed into Camp Whitcomb grounds.

True--the public is not allowed on grounds except on race day. Only about a mile of the course is on grounds, though--this is the rest of it for our hill-riding pleasure.

Jenn--

Is the map you scanned and provided different from the one provided on the CWM site? That's the route that was used last year. Is it different this year? I know last year they had to shorten the course slightly at the last second because of road construction.

I've never seen a map posted on the site. If the one I provided is different than last year I didn't know about it; I always thought they kept the route the same. Obviously the map I scanned doesn't have a lot of detail so it may or may not be different. Where is the site map? Are they at least close?

Here you go. It's actually within the link that the OP posted above.

Looks like it, although they note that there is a 530 participant limit and there is an extra fee for race weekend registration. You may want to shoot the RD an e-mail if you're interested in doing that. Online registration is still open.

Thanks for the link Scooby--it's the first I'd seen it. That map is the same as the one I posted above. If my written directions aren't 100% accurate I was just having trouble reading the map.

Now that I look at it more closely...I'm guessing the route starts on Center Oak and goes to Plainview, not Scott Lane and Hideaway. Sorry for the confusion.

Yeah, that sounds right. If I remember correctly, they did use Hideaway last year because of the road construction on Lake Five Road. However, I was out there this morning and Lake Five has been wonderfully re-paved. This is going to be fun!

I drove it this morning...by far the hilliest tri I've done to date. Let's see how well I've trained this summer, shall we?

I live in the area and swim/train in lake Kesus and bike in the surround areas.  Great area, definitely not flat but a challenging ride.
