Subject: RE: Can you guys confirm this for me? ChrisM - 2008-08-15 1:44 PM Totally have to disagree[]QUOTE] Really, that's OK , the events that were changed were swimming and gymnastics becuase that is what they wanted us to view in primetime. Swimming started last night at 10:30 PM EST and gymnasts at around 11:30. That is 7:30 and 8:30 out on the west respectively. I know you guys have gridlock in SoCal but even in teh worst traffic you should be home. Clearly, never driven in L.A. traffic Super important question: for you guys on the west, does it say "LIVE" during the swimming and gymnastics in the upper right of your screen, or "recorded earlier? Don't think it shows either, but everyone on the west coast that is interested knows to avoid news outlets, and thus knows it's not "live." I don;'t think we can sue for misrepresentation ETA - i think the blackout on nbc.com is worse. But hey, as long as the olympics is a "product" and NBC bought the rights to air it, they can do what they want. As I said, if FINA/IOC thinks morning finals would hurt the athletes or affect their performance, they should have stood up to the mean peacock bully. Has any swimmer been negatively affected by the morning finals? they only broke 2 world records in swimming this morning...it's starting to get to them |
