These are the ones that run down the outside of your lower leg, under your ankle, and attach midfoot right behind your fifth metatarsal. It is labeled on here: foot anatomy

So, I've hurt mine. Anyone have any advice on treatment? I'm sort of doing RIICE - rest, ice but probably not enough, ibuprofen, compression from tight fitting shoes but not from any sort of wrap, and elevation when I sleep. I've stopped running altogether, and the super relaxed bike ride I went on seemed fine. Anyone else hurt this, and if so, what treatment did you follow and what was the recovery time?

Grrr. I'm trying to avoid going to the doctor if I can, but I think it might be time. I've gotten way more aggressive in treatment, and it is responding to that. I'm icing more frequently, more ibuprofen, keeping my feet up as much as possible. What other stuff besides the NSAIDS dd you do? Wrap, stretch, heat?
