Update on my decked-out club...the pool was nice and cool at 0530 yesterday morning. It was much warmer the other day when I was there late in the day.

So it was my first time in a pool since 2001...and I braved the lanes...started with the kick board and then dared myself to try the freestyle since I hadn't done it in so long. Come to find out, it went amazingly well!! I did some breast stroke and of course back stroke and kind of just re-familiarized myself with being in the water again.

The only times I've been in the water as of late is playing on the beach or sitting with my butt in an innertube.

So I'm elated that I can actually swim from one end of the pool to the other! LOL...I have to stop and rest but I can do it.

So I've got to build my endurance/speed...all that. But yes, I CAN swim!!!! Cool

Attitude sounds good. It's the start of a challenging but reward journey. That sounds too schmoltzy...you got work ahead of you, but you know you can swim, and you will be rewarded, some day, we don't know when, when you will just be able to swim and swim and swim continuously. Trust me. If you're lucky, it will take a lot less longer than it took me.

Thanks to both of you guys! I'm excited that I can at least do it, so now I can actually start TRAINING LOL...I have the 12 week Du plan scheduled, since I have one of those coming up. I can't seem to find a Sprint Tri in my local area within the same time frame (Nov-Dec of '08). So I will probably du the Du plan but work on building up the swim endurance so that once the Du is done, I can get on a Tri plan for the '09 season. Does this sound like a reasonable plan?
