| Subject: RE: seat post and stem replacementIs your fitter trying to set you up with a "tri" fit on your road bike?   As long as you trust your fitter, I would do  both.  It sounds like he is trying to shorten your "cockpit" up.  I had this done for me on my last bike mostly because the frame was just a little to big.  I don't know about turning  your seatpost around.  I would think the angle of the seat clamp wouldn't allow you to set your seat properly.  I can't help you with brands too much.  On my recent bike that I built myself, I bought a Specialized stem that has shims with it so you can adjust the stem angle.  I figured that would give me the most flexibility in dialing in that part.  It's not carbon though.  My seatpost is just a stock specialized carbon w/Zertz insert post.  Edited by Gregkl 2008-08-23 7:14 AM |
