Subject: S.I Pro 9 help

Evening all

I bought this from a store for $20 on closeout.  I can get it to read my heart rate and tell time.  However no matter how many times I read the manual, I cannot get it to record my different HR zones and then recall them.  I did get the alarm working to tell me when I hit zone 4.

I would really like to go back and see that at 30 minutes into my bike I hit my max HR or I was in zone 3 for 80% of my run and so on.

Any Pro 9 for dummies tips?

Joe

BTW my VCR's never blinked 12:00 over and over!

First - did you ever set your LT or MHR so the watch could determine your zones? I think you have to do that first. It sounds like you have.

To make it record your heart rate zones, you have to get it into chronograph mode. You hit the button on the right side a few times to do that - the main number will be your HR, and there will be a stopwatch-esque readout on top. Run the stopwatch while you run or bike or whatever.

After you're done with your workout, you need to clear it by holding down the chronograph start button for a few seconds. If you don't clear your workout, it won't get saved so that you can view the data.

After you've done that, get it to the screen where there's a clock and your heart rate. When you're on that screen, hold down the button on the face of the watch for two seconds. It'll tell you to hit the lower button on the left side, and then using that button you can cycle through how long you spent in each zone and such. It won't tell you when you hit your max heart rate, but when you get to the avg heart rate screen, you can hold down the button on the face of the watch and it'll tell you your MHR and your ending HR. If you used laps/splits, I think it'll also tell you the avg for each lap/split and you can see your MHR for each lap/split.

Hope that helps. The instructions for it kind of suck, as does making it do basic things, but once you get used to it, it's a pretty solid little gadget.

I have the SI Pro9 as well, and sistinas's instructions are right on target.  It probably is a matter of 'saving' the workout and clearing the chronograph by holding down the start/stop button for a couple of seconds, and then going back and recalling the workout.  That threw me when I first got mine.

I bought one of those from an online store but after my first swim with them, it leaked water so I returned, for the first few days it worked just fine.... I just followed the instructions!

Thanks all, I will try later tonight.  Now time to get ready to meet the daughter's new teacher.  It's hard to believe that school starts in a few days.
