I REALLY increased my devotion to the bike a couple winters ago. When I came back to running, I felt like my legs were the strongest they ever had been and I ended up with a great season of running. I attribute it mostly because I was able to train more without my usual assortment of knee issues that would hold me back. You can't replace running and expect to be where you were but it's not entirely bad news to back off.
