Just got the below e-mail.  Perhaps I'm cynical, but if I was not going to go and they were not going to give me a refund, why would I want them to do less work?  Just thinking here.  BUT the upshot...BID NUMBERS FRIDAY!!! 

2008 Ford Ironman Wisconsin - Athlete Update

Dear Ford Ironman Wisconsin Participants,

We will be assigning race numbers to the 2008 Ford Ironman Wisconsin on Friday, August 29. If you are not racing and do NOT wish to have a race number assigned, please let us know by hitting reply to this email (leaving the subject line intact) on or before Thursday, August 28. Be sure to include your name in the body of the email.  As per our entry policy, the refund deadline has passed and you will not be entitled to a refund nor do we allow rollovers to another year.

If you have any other inquiries, please do not use the “reply” function to this email and instead send a new email us at [email protected] and be sure to include the subject of your inquiry in the subject field as it will help us route your inquiry and expedite the response.

Beat me to it...

Last time I did this race, we got this e-mail and numbers didn't get posted til like 2 weeks later. I'm guessing this may be the real deal this time around.
