Anyone else running this?  I know a lot of you are doing the Disneyland half in the morning.  I guess the race is sold out now, but I went to Top to Top the other night and there was a big group getting ready for a training run.

Seems like a lot of hype for this race, but at least I'll get to see Kayne afterward.  And it will be a little different to run in the dark... not exactly the nicest neighborhood to run through at night, but there will be a ton of people around.

12,000 plus registered.  Yes, I am running it.

Good luck.  I'll be the guy in the red shirt.

great race...BUT

Over 2hours to get my bag!  And me and at least 3000 others missed the Kayne concert becasue of it.  Very unorganized portion of the event that really left some sour tastes.  Lot's of volunteers, the sheer number of them saved the day...kinda.  But over 2hrs was pretty bad, and there still a lot of people in line when I left after 11pm.

Yeah, the problem was that there were a lot of recreational runners who had bought entries to the race to see Kayne.  So they brought lots of stuff - cameras, jackets, etc, that were needed on the run.  I hate doing bag check stuff in general.  Everything I bring I consume or throw away before the race.

def a lesson learned.  That was my first time doing a bag check (since the wife couldn't come in, only racers permitted) but I will be avoiding that in the future.

Another reason to prefer triathlon--you get a place for your stuff...
