This is another one that just looked like fun

300 yard snake swim in an outdoor pool, 10 mile bike ride through the rolling roads of Western Loudoun, and followed by a challenging cross country trail run around Franklin Park

My wife and I will be there. We will be tired from a concert the night before but we will be there anyway. Its too close to home not to run it. And the profits seem to be going to a good cause.

My wife and I rode the bike course today. Are you familiar with the area? If not I would suggest at least driving it prior because there are some pretty good hills. I think that it will help us know where to kick it and where to save it.

Well that was exciting

I don't believe they found a place that had 10 miles of either up or down on the bike. There was, what, about 20-30' of level ground the whole way?

Hmmm, how much is a 12/25 cassette?

My wife and I were there, fun race. It was the wife's first tri, so I watched to support her and take action photos. She wound up finishing 9th out of 40 or so women, and was very pleased. She even somehow got an age group award, even though she was 4th out of 10 in her age group (you may have seen her at the end, there was a lot of confusion when it was announced, since it was supposed to be top 3).

Anyway, I think she has the potential to be pretty good at these, and we're going to start training harder for our next one together.

If someone in her age group finished top three in the overall they can not get both awards. If you wife is Wendy Keane she received 3rd place becasue Tina Genay got second overall. My friend Maradith Meyer got 1st in the age group for the same reason. This is the rule in all of the races that I have run.

My wife and I were there. We both got 5th out of 7 in our age groups. It was a very difficult run. I pre-rode the bike course so I knew how hilly it was but I had no idea how bad the run was, which was probably a good thing.
