Total Time = 2h 38m 53s
Overall Rank = 93/474
Age Group = M25-29
Age Group Rank = 7/27
Pre-race routine:

Left a bit late for the race, but ate a Cliff Bar and hydrated on the way there. Had to wait in a long line to pay the park entrance fee, then was placed in a parking lot farther away and had to trek through the woods to get to transition.
Event warmup:

Loosened up on the beach and scouted the swim course when you could still see it.
Swim
  • 27m 38s
  • 1640 yards
  • 01m 41s / 100 yards
Comments:

I felt fairly relaxed in the water the whole way. I couldn't find anyone with my same pace to draft off of and was able to minimize contact with others.
What would you do differently?:

Nothing, I think this was a fairly good swim for me, but more time in the pool would be beneficial.
Transition 1
  • 02m 15s
Comments:

Ran easier than I could have from the beach up to the transition area. This was the first race without socks on the bike and I stumbled a bit putting my shoes on.
What would you do differently?:

Practice putting on my bike shoes with wet feet.
Bike
  • 1h 16m 50s
  • 26.1 miles
  • 20.38 mile/hr
Comments:

I actually liked the course minus the few smelly parts near cow pastures and chicken farms. There were a couple of difficult hills. When facing into the headwind about mile 16-20, I checked out mentally for a bit for some reason. I guess it was because there was no one in front of me and I was feeling rather flat at that point.
What would you do differently?:

Keep focus throughout the entire bike.
Transition 2
  • 01m 4s
Comments:

Great flying dismount off of the bike. I still can't run without socks, so this slowed me down a bit.
What would you do differently?:

Nothing
Run
  • 51m 9s
  • 6.21 miles
  • 08m 14s  min/mile
Comments:

The flat feeling continued onto the run. I didn't wear a HR monitor for this race and was glad that I didn't. I found my way into a groove and kept it up, walking at each water station for a few seconds to get some water down. I had some stomach upset issues on the run that I think were due to a too concentrated infinit solution.
What would you do differently?:

Don't use as much concentration with the infinit and use gels as needed in the run.
Post race
Warm down:

Hydrated and ate some carbs.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Shouldn't have used a more concentrated formula than I did in training and need to keep a constant mental focus.

Great job.  I knew you were fast on the bike.  I did not realize you were fast on everything.  I was nice to meet you Dad.  It was pretty cool of him to watch you.
