Subject: RE: Light snapping feeling in lower leg I just thought I'd clarify that there is no noise and no pain with my phenomenon. It is simply an uncomfortable, distracting sensation under the skin. As if there were a rubber band being plucked just under the skin of my lower leg. I just thought this occurence was too uncommon, or even bizzare to ask my regular doctor about and get a satisfying answer. Ziggyrottie, I can't say for certain (since I have no official medical background) but I might guess to say that you condition is, in fact, an actual injury. If this happens more than few times, I might see a specialist about it. I have had ACL replacement and meniscus repair surgeries and what I can say from that experience is there are a lot of tendons and ligaments in the knee that don't get a whole lot of blood flow and thus take a longer time to heal than other injuries. Perhaps you have an old injury that is being aggravated by your running? Nichcach, is the sound in your phenomenon a distinct snapping noise or somewhat like the cracking you get in joints or in the back sometimes? By my guess, the tenderness may be a sign of inflammation. Again, something a specialist might have more insight on. I guess we're all in need of a little medical insight but-- haha-- we came here! Are there any beginner triathlete doctors in the house? :P |
