Swim
Comments: The pool was dark and crowded and I found it difficult to see. The lanes were narrow and I was worried about a head-on collision so I ended up breast-stroking quite a bit just to be able to see. I had my contacts in and the optics suck. What would you do differently?: Just go for it. This was my first experience and I didn't want to smack anyone! Transition 1
Comments: I don't have biking shoes yet, but I hopped on and got rolling quickly. What would you do differently?: Be faster. Since it was my first tri I was a bit overwhelmed and trying to make sure I didn't forget anything. I need to trust my prep. better. Bike
What would you do differently?: Not drop my water bottle around mile 5 requiring me to stop and pick it up. Transition 2
Run
Comments: I walked a bit the first mile because my ankles were hurting. What would you do differently?: Adjust my biking so my ankles don't hurt when I get off. Post race
Warm down: Met my husband and kids at the finish line and walked around. Drank a latte my husband brought me. Drank more water, then rode back to the start of the race to shower and gather my T1 stuff. What limited your ability to perform faster: This was my first tri and while I wanted to see what I was capable of, I didnt' want to overdo it and kill myself. Now I know what to expect and can train harder. Need to really improve my running as I've never been a runner. Last updated: 2008-09-22 12:00 AM

Coffee, cereal, dropped stuff at transition, had half a power bar.
Not much - about 75 yards in the pool then some stretching.
