I did the father's day tri in elma.  The swim is super short-just enough time for the water to soak through the wetsuit.

I enjoyed the tri.  It was very small (about 25 doing the tri) and casual.  great support.  very flat ride and run. Lots of munchies and socializing afterwards.

I've done many of Bob's events in Elma. He does a great job of setting up a low-key affair. Don't let that make you think it's not run well, though.

As stated already, the course is very flat. The bike course does have a slight uphill slope on the outbound leg that you won't even notice until you turn around and realize it's slightly easier. There's one rise that's maybe 8' on the return portion of the run.

If I weren't still semi laid-up, I'd do it.

It would probably be good if I went-I need to get the training time in for my September challenge. I don't know if I will have time-I am so incredibly busy.

It would be really neat to do the course again-This was my first triathlon(father's day '08) and I would like to see how much I have improved.  Goal-beat previous time by 15 minutes.

I enjoyed the race.  Someone liked to bike over the fuzzy orange and black caterpillars-I saw lots of them, but only one wasn't flat.  There also was a fresh car vs deer incident on the road on the biking leg.  Several people commented on the bear scat along the run course, but I didn't notice it.
