I don't know. I have gone much faster on my Specialized Big Hit that my tri bike. Whistler is Crazy!

46 top end, gravity aided.

38 in a sprint (flat), did have a tail wind though.

60.5 (or so my speedometer said) on 2222 in Austin.

Thankfully, it's a straight road, but I'll never do it that fast again. When I think back now what would have happened to me if I had blown a tire, I shudder. Besides, now, I like going uphill more than going downhill.

Wow some of you are pretty crazy.  I hit 42 last weekend on "The Wall" just north of the Love's gas station in sanger on the I-35 service road.  The bad part is that we had to come back up the hill on the opposite side of the highway on the way back.  It was still alot of fun though.
