Subject: RE: anyone ever change a polar F6 battery?I haven't changed an F6 battery but I have changed an F4 battery. The batteries are actually pretty easy to change. The issue is the O-ring seal. If the seal gets seated improperly or has a hairline crack of some kind it can allow water into the unit and fry it. Obviously, if a Polar service shop didn't do the repair they won't honor the warranty. In my case I don't use that particular HRM for swimming so it was a risk worth taking. If you use it in the pool and can't afford to replace it if things go wrong then I would have it serviced. If that's not as much of an issue then its a straight battery change like most other digital watches. |
