Subject:Need to drop 20 lbs prior to NOLA 70.3....
I'm having a lot of trouble losing weight; I'm 208 (14.5 BF) and I have been staying away from the protein shakes and cycling, swimming, and running like crazy. What else can I do to balance nutrition and training to lose the weight. When I did marathons a decade ago I weighed only 172 then I started a strngth training program to make me a stronger CG Rescue Swimmer. Any ideas are welcome.

It is a matter of speed. I could run a 3:23 marathon weighing 180. The trouble is I have been lfting wts so long it really is hard to drop wt even though I do only cardio and muscular endruance tng. I plan picking up the running during the Winter, hopefully that will help.

Can you modify your strength training from a "body build" style to a "fitness" style? I'm no expert, but I would think that if you put 1/2 the weight on, and did twice the reps, it's kinda like running distance instead of sprints. Maybe that would help...maybe not.
Personally, I would worry about it. Just train yourself to go faster and it'll happen.
