Pre-race routine:

Everything went smooth including the 1 hour &45 min drive to the race.I was glad for the rain the day before to kind of clean off the roads a little. Parked twards the back, made for a quick getaway!
Event warmup:

I walked for about a half mile to the start, light stretch and was ready.
I watched a guy stick his belly out,do some strange kunk fu kicks, light up a ciggarette, down his coffee, and put his number on! I was floored! Oh well, with close to 10,000 racing there is going to be all kinds.

Comments:

The weather could not have been any better! I was trying to break the 2 hour mark, but honestly I was more than happy to finish. I started off fairly strong and PRed my 5k and 10k times by at least a minute off each according to the digital stopclocks they had setup at 5k,10k,10 mile marks. At mile 5 I started to try to conserve and relax for the last part of the race, I tried but I dont think I did.At mile six I was planning my porta potty stop, I figured this was a good time to break at the halfway point. I cut thru someones front yard and took the first open potty, as I flung the door open I was supprised to find someone completely naked, but she was way more supprised than me. Finished, got my gel and was off. I stayed steady up until mile ten, then I started to tire, my base was just not there. Mile 11 & 12 I felt like I was going backwards, soo many people passed me and was starting to see numbers from the later corral. The last mile was long, and made this race the hardest I have ever done! I wanted to walk soo badly but just kept myself going, it was hard, but I refused to walk at all. I was soo happy just to see the finish shute, I did it!
What would you do differently?:

Start off slower.
Post race
Warm down:

Walked for about a mile with some Cytomax and gatorade.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Need more milage and run days.
