No Kidding...  I guess you didn't get the sarcasm in the post.  I know, I raced last year.  But is there a USAT rule prohibiting wetsuits in indoor pools, if the water temp is 78 or below?

Not a USAT rule. If the RD permits it, then go for it...as long as you don't mind being the ONLY person there in a wetsuit!

Lets just make it our own rule...no wetsuits for and indoor 300m swim.

NO -  But the magnetic fields can be so strong it can rip you heart monitor off and suck it down to the bottom - right Gary.

Sorry I messed up with the post etiquette.  I don't plan on wearing one, just curious.  Since I fretted for 3 weeks before Austin about being able to wear a wetsuit, was convinced it wasn't going to cool down enough, I didn't take one with me.  I found it humourous that wetsuits were legal.  I decided that I was just going to have to swim without and get over it.  I had a great swim, so I have finally convinced myself that I can swim without a wetsuit.  Something that has taken a few years to accomplish.

I think the tread leading up to Longhorn helped put me in the mindset that I was going to have to swim wetsuit free.  So you all have helped, in hindsight.

Thanks,

Addressing several posts:

I, too didn't even consider bringing a wetsuit to Austin for Longhorn.  Still swam pretty well.

DA seems to not like neoprene, can't use it for any other races, either.

I've lost two watches in that damn pool at Monster tris.

I too didn't take my wetsuit to Austin, and I still believe that there was no way that water was under 80 degrees.

I always notice all the gels on the bottom of the pools during pool swims.  Never seen a HRM watch.  I might have dove for it.....
