Run
Comments: I felt good running for the first 2 1/2 miles. It was crowded for the first mile and then opened up. About a half mile from the finish I started to feel a little sick from the beer and bad food the night before. If I didn't go out I probably could have gone faster. Oh well it was fun and my sister came in at 1:02 minutes for her first 10k ever. My sister is an insulin dependent diabetic so my wife ran with her to make sure she was ok, as this was the longest she had ever run. My 3 year old neice was dressed up as a lion and had a great time in the kids race. What would you do differently?: Not go out boozing the night before. Post race
Warm down: Walked around with my brother in-law and niece waiting for my sister and wife to finish the 10k. What limited your ability to perform faster: The night before Event comments: The only real compliant I have is that we had to pick up timing chips the morning of and the line was really long. Plus Chicago's finest decided to start blocking off parking lots for some reason which made finding a spot difficult. Last updated: 2008-10-24 12:00 AM

Woke up and had a few eggo waffles for breakfast and a bottle of gatorade. I made the mistake of going out the night before and having one too many beers. I was dehydrated when I woke up. My sister and her family were coming over as she was running her first 10k and my neice was doing the Monster Dash. Once they got to our place we headed over for the race.
Got my chip, checked my bag did a quick jog to losen up and got in line.
