Subject: RE: Skiing/boarding in Big Sky....I've never skiied there because I just can't cough up the cash when there are other places the same distance from me that are half the price and sweet skiing. The report from my husband, however, is that it's great skiing but he felt like it would be way better if he was skiing with someone who knew the mountain. There's just so much terrain that he felt he needed a little extra guidance to find the really good stuff. He's a pretty high-level skier, though, so that may or may not apply to you all. Bridger Bowl is near Bozeman as well, so if you're taking a longer trip, add a day in there. I can attest to the general awesomeness of that mountain. I have only been up to Big Sky once. The village is smaller than Breck for sure, but does have way more of the feel of a CO resort than anywhere else in MT (ie, more commercial, more boutiques and restaurants that don't feature animal heads that haven't been dusted since the 70's and stuff). Bozeman itself has some of the best shopping in MT (which ain't saying much, I know, but they are head and shoulders above everyone else). |
