Pre-race routine:

I woke up with a huge hangover.
Event warmup:

Running up a hill to get my registration packet.

I walked a lot on the uphills. I just wasn't feeling too great.
What would you do differently?:

I would not drink two six packs, 5 jello shots, a few other shots, and stay out until 3 the night before. Running while hungover is not easy!

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Alcohol and being hungover! The course was very challenging to say the least. I wouldn't have done extremely well even if I had been in tip top form because I just don't run hills very often.

Course: The course followed a dirt road most of the way and some four wheeler trails as well. It started off with a short downhill followed by an extremely long uphill. Once at the top of the hill you go down the hill and have to climb the hill on a steeper road than the first time to the top again.
