Comments: Paced it just right. This was my first race since I increased my running cadence as per Triathletes Bible, so at least 84 cadence. First 6 miles at 7:34 per minute, then speed up at turnaround. I was in 36th place at the turn (if I can count correctly). I kept calculating the total time after about 8 miles / 1 hour and I could see I would get under 1:40. I wanted 1:37 as that is Boston qualifier pace. Mile 11 wasn't as bad as I thought (long straight into wind) and a good sprint at the end against place 26. What would you do differently?: Only select better socks. I just wore any old pair and I suffered a bit in mile 12, I have 1000 mile socks I just didn't bother to find them! Post race
Warm down: Put ice in my cap, ate the pasta lunch. Took the kids to a birthday party and climbed around in the fun house What limited your ability to perform faster: Lack of a long training build up and I am still 10 lbs overweight Event comments: Excellent local support and this event just keeps getting better.
