Run
Comments: Kept a good pace throughout, no walking except through drink stations last lap was hard but manageable, the wall wasn't too bad headwinds uphill made for some fun work but at least it kept things cool. What would you do differently?: Probably get a bit more speed training in, and some more beachwork but overall I was happy with the run. Post race
Warm down: Bit of a 5km run afterwards which made a big difference to a quicker recovery in the next few days. What limited your ability to perform faster: I'd say more training at a faster pace, Event comments: Definitely reccomend it to anyone who likes a bit of a challenge with hill work, second time I've done it and the conditions were completely different both times previous year was cloudy with no wind, this year was Easterly and 28 degrees Last updated: 2008-10-29 12:00 AM

not alot, shower to warm up water 250ml
slightly dehydrated which worked well as I've usually been over the top with hydration
No coffee either so NO mid bathroom stops
1500 metres from the race, bit of a light run to the start position
