Comments:

I had four layers on. Very cold and windy. This was my first half marathon. Strategy was zone 1 for first 5 miles; zone 2 for next 5 miles;all out for the last 3.1. Unfortunately,I did not have much left at the end. Course was extremely hilly.I ran every hill. A lot of people walked the hills and caught me on the downhill.

I had been pretty sick with a cold for the last few days. Glad I did the race anyway.
What would you do differently?:

Work on speed
Post race
Warm down:

stretching

What limited your ability to perform faster:

hilly course and lack of experience

Event comments:

Great cause supporting the Victory Junction camp. My daughter wants to volunteer at the camp next summer.

They could have used one or two more drink stations.

Awesome! I was there too. Did the five mile instead of the half. Tough course. Too much for my abilities. You went the distance. I'm so impressed. Congratulations!!!

Hey John!

That was ABSOLUTELY fantastic! I live 2 miles from VJ so I know how hilly the course is. I don't like to ride it on a bike! Awesome time for those conditions. It was VERY windy and cold. Congratulations and way to hang in there.

Nice finish John.

Sounds like a really tough course from what I've heard.

Hope you get over your cold ... The Winter DUs are coming up.
