Comments: Had no expectations for this race. Basically, due to the cold and runs earlier in the week, I expected to complete in about 48 minutes. Was in the middle of the pack for start and kept the first 1K to about a 6 minute pace. Then slowly increased the pace for the rest of the race. I didn't wear a garmin, just a timer, and I think this help, because it forced me to run by feel. Maybe the increased performance could be attributed to the power bar or oatmeal before the run whic were new strategies to me. Will need to experiment with this. What would you do differently?: Nothing Post race

Had oatmeal for breakfast at about 6:15am and got to the site early, went through registration and got everything set up. Hung around the school to keep warm and had the power bar that was part of the race kit.
