This race was quite unique: runners wearing all manner of race clothing, much of which would not still be in use by US runners (old, worn out shoes, walking shorts instead of running shorts, etc.)...and one guy was running barefoot!

Water breaks were also interesting: warm, sweet tea instead of Gatorade, cubes of darm bread sprinkled with salt instead of energy gels...but it all worked, as this was PR for me!
