Comments:

1st running event going end-to-end with out breaking stride to walk.
Paced off a pair of pink-soled shoes the 1st mile, guy in a red jacket the 2nd mile, girl in a red shirt to the finish.

What would you do differently?:

Wasn't well prepared for the chilly start and ran with the fleece jacket I intended to shed before the start; didn' get too warm but not the outer shell I'd otherwise opt for.
Need to bring variable layer options along for future run events

Post race

Warm down:

Walked around the parking lot and had a couple cups of the orange gatorade being doled out by ROTC. Then into the pool for an easy 2k swim.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Carrying 20 lbs. more than I'd prefer and just need to run more as part of the regimen.

Event comments:

The 'big' objective was to get a base time and try finishing below 30 minutes. Mission Accomplished!
