Subject: Ezekial bread
I've heard lots of good things about it, so I decided to buy a loaf this weekend at Trader Joe's. I got the 4:9 Multigrain loaf. I usually only eat Brownberry Double Protein 100% Whole Grain. I tried a piece of the Ezekial bread last night. I toasted it, and spread a small amount of natural PB & honey on it. It was yummy, but about 1/2 hour later...I sort of felt sick to my stomach. Luckily the sick feeling passed and I was ok the rest of the evening. This morning, I decided to try it again for breakfast. Same thing...1 piece toasted, with some natural PB...which is my "normal" breakfast. When I got to the gym a short time later, I got this really queasy feeling and felt like I was going to vomit. I never actually did throw-up, but the feeling was there for at least a good hour or so. I've never had that feeling whenever I ate the Brownberry bread, and that is the only thing that I changed. Is it just me...or does anybody else have trouble tolerating this Ezekial bread? I'm almost afraid to eat it again. Oh, before anyone suggests this...it's not the PB, because I've already gone through 1/2 of the jar with no problems.

I am not sure about the other bread that you are eating, but it is possible that you are responding to the REAL whole wheat/or whole grain--as in a "food sensitivity". Sometimes people who are experiencing this (as opposed to a full blown allergic reaction) will do so with whole wheat grain vs. a more processed version. Another question that seems obvious but not always so, are you chewing really well? Ezekial bread has some pieces in it, and one needs to chew food really well in order to release and suspend the enzymes in the food itself that helps in the digestion process.  I love this bread toasted too with tahini on it, and add tomatoes even better. But I honestly can not eat much gluten as I tend to get stomach issues (and asthma inflammation)  if I eat too much.... a little every couple of days and I am AOK. Try laying off all wheat & gluten (oats/rye/wheat/barley) for 5 days or so, and then try one slice of the bread again and see if you tolerate it better. This is a "mini food elimination" test.

I eat it all of the time with no issues, I also love the cinnamon raisin one with a bit of cottage cheese or cream cheese.  YUMMY!  I would wait a week and then try again.  It could be a coincidence and you would have had a tummy ache no matter what you ate.
