While browsing for books at the library, I found a mis-shelved book entitled "Chi Running" by Danny Dreyer. It sounds a little strange, but gave me some great ideas. Here are the main points that I try and remember when running as I really don't enjoy it very much if I am not on a trail in the woods. If I can keep my mind occupied I could run forever I think!

? Relax your legs and do not “effort” with them
? Get your legs out of the way of your body
? Imagine a bungee cord from your chest to something in front of you
? Pick each foot over a bar that is from ankle to ankle
? Don’t push off with your toes; relaxed ankle and calf
? 90’ bend at elbows, swing freely from shoulder
? swing your arms to the rear and not the front
? knee 45’ behind you
? knees low and heels high
? swing legs to the rear
? pick up your feet
? lower legs limp
? soft foot strike, run quietly
? run along a tightrope
? land behind the balls of your foot
? run up a hill sideways
? when tired: shorten your stride, lean, breathe through abdomen,
look at the world around you, pick up heels, relax tired muscles
? run like you are barefoot
