Subject: RE: running on a threadmill I read that if you increase the treadmill's incline to 1% that it then equals (or is pretty close to equaling ) the same pace as running outside. The 1% acts as resistance for typical outside environmental factors (wind, road resistance, etc. ).
Otherwise you do tend to run faster on a TM if you don't add the 1% incline, because the belt tends to pull you along.
