Run
Comments: It was cold. Very cold The first mile felt good. I was running somewhere between half-marathon and 10k effort and was quite surprised to cross mile one in 7:15. Mile two was 15 seconds slower, but there was also more elevation change and I got stuck in a small pack. During mile 3, I broke free and managed to get back on pace. Somewhere in mile 4 I hit the altitude wall. You go from feeling strong and ready to kick it up to feeling like someone sucked the life out of you almost instantly. At this point, just under my ribs started to tighten up and I was done. Two barely sub 8' miles later it was over. What would you do differently?: Not sure if there is anything I could do differently. My pacing felt spot on up until the last 2 miles. Post race
Event comments: It was a small race...more like a big group run. There were plenty of volunteers at all of the confusing places in the trail. Last updated: 2009-02-14 12:00 AM
