Comments:

Whew, ran my a$$ of on this one. It really came together and I had another rabbit I was chasing for the majority of the run. I think he was in the M25-29 age group and I passed him with about 300 meters to go. He caught me in the last 100 and we battled but I ended up having to give in and let him go. He had the reserves and a great kick at the end.
What would you do differently?:

Nothing...maybe run faster. There's a thought.

Warm down:

Just catch my breath and get fluids.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

It was pretty warm out but since this was an afternoon race, there wasn't an oppressive heat factor.

Event comments:

Best post-race cookout of the year. I'm sure Bastille Day 5k (also in the West Loop) would have been great too but it rained like the sky was falling that night.

Thanks Sweetcorn!  Just found the post to my race report.  It was my best finish in my age group so it was really a memorable run for me.  I'll check you out and get some inspiration your way.
