I'm in, I'll be using it as a tempo run to work on my HIM pacing and nutrition

Love this half marathon.  It's as No Frills a half marathon you'll ever run.  No gatorade on the course, only water (atleast this was the case last year).  The only spectators on the course are the cops blocking traffic.  The scenery is, well, the backs of houses on Nicolls Rd and you can see some strip malls now and again when crossing over the intersections.  But the reason I love it is because it's flat, straight, and a faaast course!

Just be prepared for the WIND.  We luckily did not encounter much wind last year -- save for the very last turn-around.  But I have heard horror stories about past races.  But provided all is calm, it's a ridiculously fast half marathon.

Also, don't expect much after race activities - if any.  But there is some fruit and food atleast.  Best 18 bucks you'll ever spend though

I am in. Like Matt, I will be treating this as a tempo run. It may be a wet day, dress accordingly.

Yeah, they are saying 90% chance of rain

If it's raining, I'm still running.  If there are torrential downpours and lightning - then I'm sure it will be canceled.

Let's hope it doesn't rain just the few hour window that we will be running.  I too plan to make this a tempo run ... but I know myself, and I know even though that's the plan, when I toe the line it's Race Time!

There is usually a fair turn out.  Last year was 550 runner -- 180 who ran the 5k.

Considering the weather, I would guess that number will be much smaller.  Again, this is not a "Rockin' Good Time" Half Marathon.  Zero crowds, no hoopla, just a plane Jane simple Half Mary.

Everybody Prepare to get Wet tomorrow morning!!
