Run
Comments: I think this was a bit short, that or I've got really fast. Probably more like a mile, maybe a little less. Transition 1
Comments: Better than usual since I already had socks on and didn't have to worry about dumping my wetsuit. Bike
Comments: The winds killed me, blew off the road twice, once while doing 30+ on a downhill. Couldn't get into a good rhytm, think I might go back and try to get refitted on the bike. It feels like my seat is a bit too low. Transition 2
Comments: Had to pick the bike up to run across this muddy/gravel filled area, tough to do in hard-bottomed shoes. Run
Comments: Quads were tight, really should have pushed a bit harder. I kept having this internal dialoge with myself where my hamstrings would scream that they could go faster and my quads insisted that I shouldn't. What would you do differently?: More bricks to get used to the feeling coming off the bike, I do bricks with some regularity, but I think the intesity on the bike has been too low to be fully effective. Post race
Warm down: Stolled around, had a banana & water, stretched. What limited your ability to perform faster: Not enough interval type training. And having to play in a rugby game later that day. Event comments: Nice day, bummed the swim was cancelled. Probably saved too much for the rugby game later in the day. Last updated: 2005-01-18 12:00 AM

Woke up painfully early (3:50) and drove the 2 hours to St. Joe's Beach. Munching on a few bananas, a power bar, & a GU. Got there and found out the swim had to be cancelled due to dangerous surf conditions, so it looks like I'll be doing my first duathlon.
Even though we got there an hour and a half early I somehow managed to not get any type of warm-up. They gave a pre-race briefing & immediately afterwards said they were ready to start, some my warm-up consisted of dashing to and from the Start/Finish line to the transition area to throw down my sweats.
