Total Time = 51m 15s
Overall Rank = 46/388

Age Group Rank = 5/28
Event warmup:

Ran around the soccor field 1 time and swam 200 meters.
Swim
  • 08m 10s
  • 437 yards
  • 01m 52s / 100 yards
Comments:

Guesstimated my swim time at 8 mins. I was bib number 139 and was the 139th fastest swimmer. I wish I could swim faster.
What would you do differently?:

The swim went really smooth for me with not to much congestion in the pool.
I was able to pass quite a few slower swimmers and was passed by 2 or 3 faster swimmers.
Transition 1
  • 00m
Comments:

Time is included with the bike split. I had no trouble in T1...went very smooth.
What would you do differently?:

nothing
Bike
  • 20m 25s
  • 6 miles
  • 17.63 mile/hr
Comments:

I knew the course very well and rode it as fast as possible in the rain. It has a lot of turns so I had to be careful about sliding.
What would you do differently?:

Ride a little faster on the straightaways.
Transition 2
  • 00m
Comments:

Time is included with the bike split. I got lost coming into and out of T2. I counted bike racks and was off one coming in and went the wrong way going out. Finally heard someone screaming and I got going the correct way. It cost me about 10-15 seconds.
What would you do differently?:

Pay more attention before the race.
Run
  • 22m 41s
  • 3 miles
  • 07m 34s  min/mile
Comments:

This is where I lost the race for age group. They changed the course from last year. It is now longer and has more hills. I had so much left in the tank at the end, I could have run a lot faster.
What would you do differently?:

Attack the course instead of being conservative.
Post race
Warm down:

Bottle of water, got all my stuff to the car, took a long hot shower.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

The rain made it hard to go full out.

Event comments:

Race Day Events was unorganized again. Several bikers were directed the wrong way on the course so they were disqualified. The Delta girls did a great post race job. I helped them make P&J sandwiches after the race.
