Aerolite Aero bars and bar end shifters

Got a set of the Profile Design Aerolite clip-ons.  Like them.  Currently my shiftters are bar-ends on my drops.  Can I move them to my clip-ons?  I would really like to have the shifters on the clip-ons but saw a review where someone stated they hadn't figured out how to do this.  Using Shimano shifters.
