Any BT'ers do the full or half?  I did my 1st half today. A month ago, I ran 14 miles with the Nashville Striders @ 1:56:xx. Then, my IT Bands started raising sands the following week. I stopped 10 times today to adjust the bands on the tops of my knees that kept the IT Bands from rubbing against the knee bone.  I hobbled the last 1/2 mile and did a 2:06:08.

Anyone else run today?

Sure did.  I wasn't quite ready for the heat, but it was a beautiful day!  Very scenic route too.  I think I'll do this one again next year!

Me too. I used it strictly as a training run. I have not done a half in over a year. I also tend to fade in the heat. I targeted 2:05 or so and got 2:10. My best ever in this race is 1:54. All in all I think my plan worked. I did not want to overextend myself in the heat. I did not want to get injured.

The "new" beginning of the course is very reminiscent of the first CM Marathon which ran downton then up Demonbreun. I like this newest version alot.

Once again, Nashville did themselves proud. Elite racing put on another great race. They made good accomodations for the heat (more water etc). I feel bad the guy died at the end of the half.

I ran the full. Was 40 minutes off my goal due to the heat, as were many of us. I train in 40-50 degree temps; was totally unprepared for heat & also the crowding. I weaved a lot the first 10K. It didn't ease up till the halfers broke off at mile 11. I am very sunburned.  Frown

Even still, I can say it was a great experience. The bands were great & they placed them just right. There were times (around miles 14 & 15) where we needed the silence and just as we needed encouragement, there was a band on the corner. Smile Nashville is a lovely city!

CONGRATS to all of you!!!

Glad you came over and ran with us! Yeah, the April sun can be really intense! Maybe we'll see you again next year!

Love this Marathon and I've done a few around the country and this one takes the cake for me.  The spectators....wow...I love the amount of people that come out and cheer us all on.  The race directors have this down to a science now, if they could only fix that porta potti issue...lol

Otherwise I went into this just having a great run with my wife and family and just taking in the whole experience, but you all are right the heat got the best of me too and I faded at the end.  Lots and Lots of heat and sun and it got hot quick.  By the way what are your opinions on them adding the old route to the course where you go all the way down to 4th ave and then back up the hills on Demonbruen?   I loved it lots of room to run, started to bottleneck going into the neighborhoods but I had fun.

I ran the full. It was my first full marathon. The heat took it's toll, but I can now say I have completed a marathon.

Yep, Ran the half was shooting for a 1:55 but ended up with a 2:01 instead. Really enjoyed it and will be running the full next year! Glad you guys all enjoyed our great city! Didn't like the choke point on Music Row, but wasn't too bad.. overall a great time!
