Pre-race routine:

Up at 3:45Am (had over a 2 hour drive to get to the race), ate some pasta and a bannana, and drank plenty of water.
Event warmup:

None
Swim
  • 09m 40s
  • 437 meters
  • 02m 13s / 100 meters
Comments:

Swimmers entered the water too often. It wasn't staggered enough. At about the 200m meter point, the lane was bottlenecked with 3 swimmers blocking the lane. I finially swam through the pack and ended up totally winding myself for the rest of the swim. NOTE - Speedy Feet had my swim time as my estimated swim time, which I believe I did a little bit faster than that.
What would you do differently?:

I felt as if I wa sprepared for a good swim. I don't know that I would have done anything different other than slow down at the beginning.
Transition 1
  • 01m 40s
Comments:

I took a minute off of my last tri T1 time. I still think I can do better.
What would you do differently?:

Would like to buy some tri shoes and have the shoes already clipped in to the pedals.
Bike
  • 46m
  • 12.74 miles
  • 16.62 mile/hr
Comments:

I pushed it as hard as I could on the bike. I felt like I should have done better than I did with the effort I put in, which tells me that I need to train A LOT more.
What would you do differently?:

Train Train Train
Transition 2
  • 01m 34s
Comments:

Coming into T2 was kind of confusing. I wasn't sure how far I could ride my bike until I had to jump off. I ended upjumping of a little early and running with the bike. This could be chalked up to my inexperience.
What would you do differently?:

Just continue to train.
Run
  • 27m 30s
  • 3.11 miles
  • 08m 50s  min/mile
Comments:

This is always my worst. Being as i'm not a hugr fan of running, it's the one discipline I only train "when I have time", which shows in my times. My legs were noodles after the bike so running was a bit awkward.
What would you do differently?:

Run more!
Post race
Warm down:

walked a bit and then headed straight for the car. Had to get my buddy home who rode with me. Got home and went for a nice slow and easy 15 mile bike ride.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Swim - bottleneck in the lanes
Bike - training
Run - training

Event comments:

I'm too new at this to really form an opinion. NOTE - Speedy Feet had my split times posted but now they are gone. So, my times are based off of memory from a few days ago when the times were actually posted.
